Welcome to the Millican Massacre, 1868 project.

The Millican project focuses on a local history event, the Millican Race Massacre of 1868, what we believe to be the largest “race riot” in Texas. The conflict occurred in Millican, Texas, a town located 15 miles from the Texas A&M University campus.

This archive locates and digitizes materials related to the Millican "riot" in the hopes of spurring additional research into what appears to be a major event that has disappeared from current discussion.
